Livio Felluga Pinot Grigio 2020 /13%/ 0.75l
Product description
The history of the winery is also the story of one man, Livio Felluga. He settled in the Italian Friuli in the late 1930s. The landscape and agricultural crops were devastated after the war, the local population was leaving for the cities, abandoning their lands. Livio was very persistent in renovating old vineyards, planting them anew, and he did not stop introducing innovations in wine production. Thanks to this, he is still considered the man who made winemaking flourish in this region again.
Today, the company is in the hands of Livio's children, who continue the passion for creating wines with their own style. They own 320 individual plots, where over 550 kilometers of vines mature. The producer is present in over 80 countries around the world, proudly displaying an ancient map of Friuli on its labels since 1956.
Livio Felluga Pinot Grigio
Without a doubt, Pinot Grigio is the most famous grape variety from Friuli in the world. The fruit was hand-picked in small crates to protect it from damage, then destemmed and fermented in stainless steel tanks. After this process, the wine matured on the lees for several months, then after bottling it was also aged in the cellar at a controlled temperature. On the nose it is very rich, composed of aromas of acacia flowers, jasmine, hawthorn and elderberry, followed by aromas of white and yellow fruits. There are notes of citrus and a touch of minerality. On the palate it is round and full, presenting flavors of peach, lychee and melon, with an accent of sweet biscuits. The finish is long and harmonious, with a slightly salty aftertaste.
It tastes best served at a temperature of 10-12 degrees. It will be suitable as an aperitif, but will be especially good in culinary combinations with fish dishes, seafood, shellfish and fresh-style risotto.
