Product description
Writer's Tears is a whiskey brand from Bernard and Rosemary Walsh's Walsh Whiskey Distillery Co. portfolio. It debuted in 2009, shortly after the success of The Irishman whiskey.
Initially, the Walshes operated as Independent Bottlers, and their market success allowed them to begin building their own distillery in Royal Oak, County Carlow, in partnership with the Italian company Illva Saronno. After five years, the partners went their separate ways, and the distillery remained in the hands of the Italians. The Writer's Tears Marsala Cask Finish presented here is a limited edition from spring 2019. It is a blend of single malt and single pot still whiskey finished in five Marsala barrels from the Sicilian Florio vineyard. The edition consisted of 2,430 bottles.
