Product description
In the 1980s Bruichladdich Distillery experienced not even a shadow of its current popularity.
It produced a whisky that was adored by locals but completely rejected by blending companies, and this fact was crucial to the success of the malt distillery at the time. In 1983, production was suspended for several years, and Whyte & Mackay, which took over Bruichladdich along with Invergordon Distillers ten years later, closed the distillery again. Its fate would change only in the new millennium, when James McEwan and Murray McDavid took the helm. In the 1980s, Invergordon Distillers tried to tempt customers by offering, among other things, limited editions in ceramic decanters. The one shown here, in chocolate color, comes from that period and contains 15-year-old whisky.
Aroma: intense, sea air, seaweed, heather, bouquet of dried flowers, lemon grass, light mineral and oak notes.
Taste : very mild, slightly oily, seaweed salad, chocolate with grains of salt, vanilla, oak and blades of dry grass.
Finish : long and soft, warming, salty, delicate oak bitterness and lemon peel.
