Product description
Old Forester bourbon was introduced around 1870 by George Garvin Brown, the founder of Brown-Forman Beverage Company, and it was the first bourbon to be sold to customers exclusively in sealed bottles and the longest running bourbon brand on the market.
During the national prohibition (1920-1933) Brown-Forman was one of the six companies to hold a medicinal whiskey permit. Old Forester 100 Proof (also called ‘Signature’) honors the legacy of George Garvin Brown, whose signature features on every bottle. Old Forester Bourbon is still produced at Early Times Distillery in Louisville, Kentucky from mash composed of 72% corn, 18% rye and 10% malted barley. The 100 Proof version scored Gold at the 2019 International Spirit Challenge.
