The Cooper's Choice is a range of single malt and single grain whiskies from the portfolio of The Vintage Malt Whisky Company, founded in 1992 by Brian Crook.
The Cooper's Choice followed a year later and pays tribute to the coopers whose role in Scotch whisky is often underestimated. The Dailuaine 11 year old presented here is the 2021 'Cooper's Choice' - distilled in April 2010, aged in American oak casks, finished in Banyuls dessert barrique cask no. 303777 and bottled at cask strength (53% abv) and without chill filtration in an edition of 306 bottles. Based in Speyside, Dailuaine Distillery produces 5.2 million litres of distillate per year from three pairs of stills.
Aroma : honey, vanilla, strawberries, nectarines, cherries, orange peel, walnuts, caramel, notes of allspice and oak.
Palate : milk chocolate, toffee, honey nuts, ripe red berries, raisins, oranges, mocha, notes of cinnamon, white pepper and oak.
Finish : medium long, with notes of mixed berries, raisins, roasted nuts, toffee, honey, milk chocolate and oak.
