Product description
The producer began his activity in 1929 in Languedoc, where he planted his first vineyard. Over time, the company grew, acquiring more estates, always taking care of the high quality of his products and the expression of the terroir from which the grapes come. From the beginning, the activity was not limited to grape growing, the family's assets also included cereal crops, olive trees and breeding bulls and horses. The headquarters of Mas du Pont are spread over the towns of Teyran and Crès, near Montpellier.
To give you a true sense of the pace of development, the vineyards started out on 13 hectares and now cover over 300 hectares, spread over 13 estates, which in turn represent 8 types of terroir. In addition, the company maintains partnerships with winegrowers from the Landguedoc, the Rhône Valley and Provence, so that it has in its portfolio all the types of terroir in southern France.
IT'S SO GOOD TO BE BAD DOUBLE RIPASSE
A wine composed of Grenache, Syrah and Mourverde grapes, which reveals from the very beginning that we are dealing with a powerfully built wine, full and rich. On the nose it is full of aromas of ripe cherries, sweet cherries, blackberries and a bit of plum. They work perfectly with spicy notes. On the palate it is strongly concentrated, complex, but rounded and well-balanced, with soft, juicy tannin and appropriate acidity. The finish is long and intense, with a fruity and spicy note.
It tastes best served at a temperature of 16-18 degrees. Decanting is recommended to ensure the right level of aeration, which will allow it to open up well and present all its qualities. In culinary combinations, it will work well with red meats, roasted or grilled, goulash, but also with good quality, aromatic cheeses.
