Product description
The infamous period of American National Prohibition started on January 17, 1920 and ended on December 5, 1933.
It was a devastating time for most of legal producers of alcoholic beverages however, “medicinal” whiskey was still available exclusively by prescription (the whiskey stock had to be stored in Government supervised warehouses). Right after the repeal Jim Beam, then 69 years old, acquired Murphy Barber Distillery in Clermont and after only 120 days of reconstruction and refurbishing work he was distilling again. The release of Jim Beam Repeal Batch in 2019 marks the 85th Anniversary of prohibition repeal also called “Repeal Day”. The whiskey is bottled at 43% abv without chill-filtration.
