Product description
With annual sales of 7.9 million cases (2019) Crown Royal has been number two best-selling whisky brand in Diageo’s portfolio (after Johnnie Walker).
In recent years Diageo spent a lot of money and marketing efforts expanding the range. Crown Royal Blenders’ Mash was launched in March 2018 as a forerunner to Crown Royal Blender’s Series. The whisky was originally called ‘Bourbon Mash’ (it is distilled from mash composed of 64% corn, 31.5% rye and 4.5% malted barley) but the name created controversy since its Canadian blended whisky aged predominantly in refill barrels. The authorities gave Diageo one year to correct mistake, meanwhile the later batches had a sticker placed on the bottle reading “This is not a Bourbon Whisky”.
Nose: quite fruity and “bourbon-like”, apples, pears, grapes, cornflakes, vanilla, caramel, honey, almonds, dash of mixed spice and oak.

Finish: medium long, with notes of vanilla, caramel, orchard fruits, oak and a touch of leather.
