Mackmyra Svensk Rök / 46.1%/ 0.5l

Mackmyra Svensk Rök (Swedish Smoke) is the only single malt with a smoky profile made from 100% Swedish ingredients.

For centuries, Swedes have used juniper twigs for smoking, and Mackmyra’s owners have applied this tradition to their whisky. Locally grown barley was malted with peat from the neighbouring Karin (Karinmossen) peat bog and juniper twigs. The whisky was aged in American and Swedish oak barrels with a small addition of Oloroso sherry barrels and bottled at 46.1% abv.

Nose : pleasantly smoky and peaty, mosses and ferns, juniper, damp clay, a handful of herbs, toffee, vanilla, caramel and citrus peels.

Palate : juniper, campfire smoke, gooseberries, greengages, a handful of fresh herbs, cinnamon, vanilla, notes of tobacco and oak.

Finish: medium long, smoky, with notes of fresh herbs, white pepper, tobacco, pine needles and oak.
