Product description
Aalborg Jule Akvavit is a traditional Danish Christmas spirit based on the craft principals of old times. The recipe has been the same since its launch in December 1982 but the bottle and packaging have varied from Christmas to Christmas and are designed by different people. Aalborg Jule Akvavit is made from distillate from cumin, dill seeds and coriander seeds at Det Danske Spiritus Kompagni. The 2020 edition was a collaboration between the brand owners and Brødrene Price, known for their culinary programs ‘Eat with Price’. The packaging and the bottle itself have been adorned with kitchen utensils such as a ladle and spatula, which are associated with Christmas cooking and Christmas ornaments, emphasizing holidays.
Aalborg Jule Akvavit breathes Christmas – its aromas and taste have a robust spicy character with lots of cumin, notes of coriander, and hints of orange and almond. It goes well with Scandinavian Christmas delicacies, such as smoked eel and salmon, hearing, liver paté or roasted pork. It should be served seriously chilled, even to -18ºC.
