Product description
La Licorera Cihuatán was founded in 2004 as a branch of Ingenio La Cabaña, a sugar producer.
The distillery is located in El Paisnal, El Salvador, and takes its name from an ancient Mayan settlement. The company began producing the first rum in El Salvador, which debuted on international markets in 2015. This rum is made from molasses, which is supplied by the parent company Ingenio La Cabaña. The rum is distilled in column stills and matured primarily in oak bourbon barrels.
Cihuatán Nikté Rum is a blend of four distillates, aged in American oak barrels – bourbon and new oak – for 12 to 15 years. Its name refers to the Mayan flower festival of Kay Nikté. 17,914 individually numbered bottles of this spirit were produced.
