In recent years Highland Park has ben enjoying enormous popularity; from 2012 to 2019 the brand sales almost doubled and crossed 2.2 million bottles mark.
Highland Park Cask Strength was globally launched in September 2020 and it is the first full proof expression from the distillery to be included in the core range. For Batch No. 1 Gordon Motion, Highland Park master distiller, personally selected and married together whiskies, predominantly aged in sherry seasoned American oak casks. The whisky is bottled without age statement at hefty 63.3% abv and without chill-filtration. Other cask strength expressions will follow on annual basis “each featuring unique flavor profiles.”
Nose: heather honey, caramel, toffee, raisins, cocoa powder, cinnamon, orange peel, cherry liquor, marzipan, hints of beeswax and distant whiff of smoke.
Palate: rich, raisins, nougat, apricots, black cherries, dark chocolate, honey, vanilla, caramel, nutmeg, black pepper and hints of smoke.
Finish: long, with notes of honey, burnt sugar, pepper, ginger, clove, hints of
tobacco and fading whiff of smoke.
