Product description
Authenticus 30 years old is the oldest version of the smoky-peated BenRiach.
The whisky was distilled in the 1980s when the distillery operated as part of Chivas Bros., then owned by Canadian conglomerate Seagram, and experimented a lot. The first BenRiach whisky with a similar profile was Curiositas 10 years old, released in 2004. Authenticus debuted two years later in a 21-year-old version, which was replaced by a 25-year-old in 2013. The 30-year-old edition first appeared in 2017. The whisky was distilled from malted barley with a touch of peat from north-east Scotland, which gives off a sweet and aromatic smoke and, after three decades in barrel, offers an unusual honeyed and peaty profile.
