Product description
The patron of the gin presented here is Professor Franz de la Böe, who, according to the producer, is the inventor of this type of drink.
The story goes that one day in the year of our Lord 1658, a professor who was constantly experimenting with formulas for an antidote to various ailments mixed grain alcohol with freshly picked juniper berries. The modern gin that bears his name is distilled with 13 botanicals, including juniper berries, angelica root, ginger, cassia bark, orris root, grains of paradise, lemon and orange peel, cardamom seeds, licorice, almonds and cubeb berries. Böe Gin is owned by the Scottish company Stiffy's Shots Ltd, based in Sterling. It is distilled in a Carter Head column, where the vapours of the alcohol pass through a vessel of botanicals, meaning that they are not macerated. It is distilled at a small distillery in Thorsk, near Sterling.
Böe Scottish gin is a very expressive and refreshing drink. In its aromatic and flavor bouquet we find notes of juniper, pine needles, fresh herbs, citrus zest and pepper. We recommend serving with Fentimnas Indian Premium tonic with the addition of a slice of blood orange or pink grapefruit.
