The Mosstowie presented here, distilled in May 1975, spent over three decades in barrel no. 5817. Its contents in November 2008 translated into 198 bottles of cask strength whisky (47.7% abv). Single malt Mosstowie was produced between 1964 and 1981 at Miltonduff Distillery in the so-called Lomond still, a cross between a traditional alembic and a distillation column. This whisky was used exclusively for the production of blends and was never officially released.
