Product description
The AH Riise brand takes its name from the Dane, Albert Heinrich Riise, who moved to the Caribbean in 1838.
On the island of St. Thomas, a Danish colony, he obtained a monopoly on pharmaceutical activity and alcohol production from the Danish government. The latter was initially produced in the form of rum and bitters, used to treat stomach ailments. Rum produced by a Danish botanist quickly gained popularity regardless of its medicinal functions. Over time, it began to be exported outside the Caribbean, including primarily to its native Denmark. Today, AH Spirits is one of the largest Scandinavian alcohol companies, whose portfolio includes many other brands and types of spirits in addition to the original AH Riise rum.
AH Riise Royal Danish Navy Strength is a spirit composed of distillates according to the traditional recipe for rum of the Royal Danish Navy. Rum was once part of the pay received by sailors serving on naval units. It had to be strong enough so that if it was spilled in a room where gunpowder was stored, the powder would still be flammable.
