Product description
Johnnie Walker has been number one Scotch whisky for decades; in 2018 the brand sold 18.9 million cases.
In the last few years Diageo spent tremendous amount of money to promote, as well as rejuvenate the Johnnie Walker brand, adding several new, sometimes high-end expressions. Summer 2016 brought Blenders’ Batch, a new range consisting of limited editions of experimental whiskies. The initial batch, Johnnie Walker Red Rye Finish was a blend of four whiskies, including Cardhu malt and grain from closed Port Dundas Distillery. The whisky was aged in first fill ex-bourbon barrels and finished for six months in casks, which originally held Bulleit and George Dickel’s rye whiskeys. Red Rye Finish was a big success; it was soon included in the core range and marketed as “Matured in small batches”.
