Product description
The Rosebank Distillery commenced operation in 1840, but it is highly probable that whisky was being produced there as early as 1773.
The distillery had three stills and used a triple distillation method, and many connoisseurs considered the whisky to be the Lowlands’ signature. To their chagrin, Rosebank suspended production in 1993 and never resumed. Almost a quarter of a century later, Rosebank fans celebrated the good news that the property, branding rights and remaining stock had been purchased by Ian Macleod Distillers, who are set to restore the distillery to its former glory by the end of 2019. Rosebank 18 Year Old, released by Ian Macleod in 2008, is a whisky aged in a 612 butt sherry cask, from which 744 bottles were filled.
