In the early 2018 Highland Park phased out the Warrior Collection from their Travel Retail range and replaced it with four expressions created by master blender Gordon Motion.
The new range isn’t directly Viking or Norse mythology themed, although it is focused on animals with strong connection to the Norse and Viking mythology. Highland Park Loyalty of the Wolf 14 years old is a combination of sherry-seasoned American oak casks and American oak ex-bourbon barrels bottled at 42.3% abv. The year 2017 was incredible for Highland Park. The brand sold 1.7 million bottles showing increase by 24% comparing to the previous year.
Nose: sweet and malty, vanilla custard, honey, sponge cake, apples, pears, sugared almonds, hints of cinnamon and a whiff of smoke.
Palate: mildly smoky and pretty spicy, nutmeg, cinnamon, white pepper, vanilla, milk chocolate, apples, apricots, salted peanuts and oak.
Finish: medium long, with notes of honey, walnuts, ginger, hay, oak tannins and peat smoke.
