Product description
The Royal Salute 32 years old Union of the Crowns was launched in 2016 to celebrate the modern British Monarchy.
The whisky pays tribute to the events of 1603, when King James VI united three mighty kingdoms to create one powerful monarchy. The blend comprises whiskies aged for a minimum of 32 years including malts form Longmorn, Braeval, Tormore and Glen Keith as well as from long gone distilleries such as Lochside and Caperdonich. Union of the Crowns is presented in an elegant porcelain flagon, made from the purest clay, water and tempered fire. Each flagon is embossed with distinguished hand-hammered silver plaque, while a black stone set on a silver crown tops the bottle. The flagon’s neck is decorated with a rose, a thistle and a shamrock.
Nose: very rich, honey, butterscotch, toffee, vanilla cake, peaches, nectarines, cinnamon, candied ginger, hints of cocoa powder and polished oak.
Palate: smooth and perfectly balanced, orange marmalade, peaches in syrup, ripe pears, dark chocolate, hints of ginger and licorice and oak.
Finish: long and complex, ripe fruit, honey, dash of mixed spice, notes of leather and oak.
