Product description
Cardhu Distillery sits in Speyside, in the village of Knockando. It was founded in 1824 by John Cumming and acquired by John Walker & Sons for £20,500 in 1893.
Cardhu malt has been closely associated with the Johnnie Walker brand ever since. As we remember in 1963 Glenfiddich was the first single malt whisky launched for global market. Two years later DCL followed the suit with Cardhu making it the first single malt from their portfolio widely available. Here we have an old bottle of Cardhu from the 1970s. Those days the Italians developed taste for young single malts and Cardhu was successfully competing with other 5 years old expressions such as Glen Grant or Aberlour.
