Mezan Rums is a collection of carefully selected rums manufactured in the Caribbean, in its broadest sense, including also Guyana, and bottled in the most natural form possible.
Mezan rums nearly always come from a single distillery, which makes them a perfect example of the distillery style for a given location. They never contain any additives, are not additionally sweetened, coloured or chill-filtered. They are always matured in American oak ex-bourbon barrels.
Mezan Trinidad 2007 is a spirit manufactured in Caroni Distillery in Trinidad. It was initially matured in American oak ex-bourbon casks, after which it was transported to the United Kingdom, where it was filled into casks which previously held another Trinidad rum. According to the bottler, its bouquet offers distinctive notes of fresh coconut and tobacco leaves, some toasted oak and citrus fruit. On the palate, there’s lemon grass, paprika and fresh black pepper. Some spice, honey and oak again.
