A final expression of Supernova released in 2015 exclusively for Ardbeg Committee to celebrate the conclusion of Ardbeg’s experiment in space.
In October 2011 vials containing Ardbeg new-make spirit and slivers of Ardbeg casks were sent to the International Space Station to investigate how near-zero gravity conditions would effect them. They have orbited the planet for almost three years and were analyzed by Bill Lumsden, Ardbeg’s Director of Distilling and Whisky Creation, upon return to Earth. Apparently the space samples were noticeably different. Just like previous Supernovas, the 205 edition was distilled from malt peated to over 100 ppm.
