The Chita Suntory Single Grain Whisky / 43%

The Chita Suntory
Single Grain Whisky / 43%

Chita is a grain distillery owned by Suntory, about which the conglomerate is reluctant to provide information.

It was built in 1972 in Aichi Prefecture, near the village of the same name, and grain distillate from there goes into all the blends in the company's portfolio, m.in. Royal, Kakubin or Hibiki. Chita covers an area of approx. 50 thousand. m2 and looks more like a petrochemical plant than a distillery. Its production potential is unknown to us, although we know that the main feedstock grain is corn. The Chita Single Grain debuted in the fall of 2015 in Japan and the following summer at Travel Retail, and is the only grain whisky listed in the Japanese producer's core portfolio. The beverage was bottled with an alcohol content of 43%, and the calligraphic mark on the label refers to its unique character.
