In the fall of 2020, we welcomed the eleventh series of Octomore's. Adam Hannett, Bruichladdich's master distiller, noted that Edition 11.1 underscores the distillery's departure from the norms accepted by single malt whisky producers, and even sets new.
The three whiskies forming it were distilled from malt with concentrations of phenol compounds ranging from 139.6 to 194ppm, much higher than the previous series. Octomore Edition 11.1 was distilled in 2014 from 100% Scottish barley (Concerto and Propino varieties) malted to a phenol compound concentration of 139.6 ppm. The whisky was aged on Islay for five years in first-fill bourbon barrels from Jim Beam, Heaven Hill and Jack Daniel's distilleries, and the edition numbered 30,000. bottles.

sweet-smoky, vanilla, brown sugar, smoky, grapefruits, lemons, peaches, a hint of ginger, damp leaves and hay and a whiff of sea breeze
TASTE
vanilla, sea salt caramel, toffee, brown sugar, milk chocolate, apricots and peaches, raisins, a trace of tobacco and a lot of peat smoke
FINISH
long, malty and smoky, with notes of vanilla, burnt sugar, candied ginger, sea salt and a trace of tar

Every autumn, generally in October, Bruichladdich Distillery releases a new batch of Octomore, the world's most "smoky peat" whisky.
The 2020 Eleventh Edition consisted of three releases, for the compilation of which master distiller Adam Hannett selected whiskies distilled from malt with concentrations of phenol compounds ranging from 139.6 to 194ppm. Octomore Edition 11.3 was distilled in 2014 from barley sourced exclusively from the Octomore farm (Concerto variety) malted to a phenol compound concentration of 194ppm. The whisky was aged on Islay for five years in first-fill bourbon barrels from Jim Beam, Heaven Hill, Buffalo Trace and Jack Daniel's distilleries, and the edition numbered 18,000. bottles.

smoky and fruity-floral, summer meadow, vanilla cream, powdered sugar, honey, lemons, oranges, nectarines, notes of aniseed and seaweed
TASTE
smoky and sweet, delicately floral, honey, vanilla pudding, apricot jam, oranges, milk chocolate, licorice, a trace of tobacco and a lot of smoke
FINISH
long and strongly smoky, with notes of vanilla, toffee, baked apples, lemongrass, sea salt and a touch of cigar ash
