Longmorn 23 Double Cask Matured / 48%
Longmorn 23 Years Old Double Cask Matured / 48%
Longmorn is often referred to as "Speyside's hidden treasure," with master buyers ranking it among the top single malts.
The distillery was built in 1894 by John Duff and is now owned by Chivas Bros, a subsidiary of Pernod Ricard. Longmorn produces annually approx. 4.5 million liters of distillate, most of which goes into the Chivas Regal 18 years old and Chivas Royal Salute blends. Longmorn's high ranking probably influenced the decision of the board of Chivas Bros. about its inclusion in the prestigious "Secret Speyside" series (three versions were released - 18, 23 and 25 years old). The Longmorn 23 Years Old Double Cask Matured presented here was aged in American oak barrels and hogshead casks and bottled at 48% abv, without cold filtration. In 2020, this whisky won a gold medal at the International Spirit Challenge.
