Bottle one of only 1000.
Masters of Photography is a series of six limited editions by The Macallan, published in collaboration with six of the most renowned photographers of our time.
The patron of the second edition was Scottish-born Albert Wilson, the undisputed master of the lens, awarded the medal of the Royal Photographic Society. Wilson's work has graced over 240 covers of Vogue and Rolling Stone magazines, and he is also the author of several famous film posters, including Kill Bill and Memoirs of a Geisha. In the case of The Macallan, the artist focused on the oak tree and the journey it takes from the moment it is cut down to the construction of a barrel and filling it with whisky. Watson and his two models began their journey in the forests of Spain, the next stages were a local sawmill, a cooperage, a sherry producer in Jerez, and finally the journey to Scotland ended at The Macallan distillery. The Macallan Albert Watson edition is 1,000 bottles of 20-year-old whisky, aged, of course, in Spanish oak Oloroso sherry barrels and bearing labels designed by the artist. The package includes a commemorative album, “The Complete Journey”, containing a photographic record of the expedition to Spain.
