Another, and so far the final stellar explosion from Ardbeg. After tremendous success of Supernova 2009 and 2010 the company went for another blast.
The 2014 bottling, beside ex-bourbon, contains sherry-cask whiskies, which the previous two Supernova offerings missed. Sherry wood contributes to sweeter and fruitier undertones that slightly temper peaty flavors. The whisky was distilled from malted barley with concentration of phenols over 100 ppm. All three releases of Supernova are highly regarded by collectors.
