Caol Ila 25 years old bottled at 43% alcohol content debuted in 2010. Previously, in 2004 and 2005, we saw two 25-year-old cask strength versions .
Single malt Caol Ila has experienced a steady rise in popularity, with sales now exceeding 600,000 bottles per year. After a quarter-century of maturation in American and European oak barrels, the Caol Ila palette is characterised by creamy sweetness and subtle notes of peat smoke.
Aroma : very complex, fruity and spicy, pears, apricots, lemon grass, traces of brine, peat and anise.
Palate: rich and creamy, slightly buttery, toffee, caramel, roasted almonds, dark chocolate, oak bitterness, a bit of sea salt and peat.
Finish: long and soft, fresh fruit, oak bitterness and distant peat notes.
