Product description
Giffard & Cie is a family owned liqueur and syrup producer with headquarters in Avrillé, in the Maine-et-Loire department in western France.
The company was founded by Émile Giffard in Angers in 1885. Émile, a graduate of Poitiers University, Faculty of Pharmacy and the pharmacy owner, experimented with mint and in 1885 created formula for Menthe-Pastille. The immediate success of the liqueur allowed him to sell the pharmacy and buy small distillery. Five generations later the family business still bears the Giffard name and is proud to uphold the high standards of quality instilled by its creator. The company is managed by Bruno Giffard and his sister Edith, the great grandchildren of the founder.
Giffard Crème de Cassis d’Anjou is made from infusion of black currants (second maceration) harvested in Loire Valley and arise from Sustainable Farming. The liqueur has intense flavor with typical for black currants tartness. Giffard’s La Gogane Royale cocktail recipe calls for:
10ml Crème de Cassis d’Anjou;
10ml Liqueur de Poire William;
80ml Crèmant.
