Product description
Giffard & Cie is a family owned liqueur and syrup producer with headquarters in Avrillé, in the Maine-et-Loire department in western France.
The company was founded by Émile Giffard in Angers in 1885. Émile, a graduate of Poitiers University, Faculty of Pharmacy and the pharmacy owner, experimented with mint and in 1885 created formula for Menthe-Pastille. The immediate success of the liqueur encouraged him to sell the pharmacy and open a distillery. Five generations later the family business still bears the Giffard name and is proud to uphold the high standards of quality instilled by its creator. The company is managed by Bruno Giffard and his sister Edith, the great grandchildren of the founder.
Giffard Crème de Cacao Blanc is made with a distillate of cocoa beans. The liqueur is crystal clear and combines deep flavor of cocoa with notes of chocolate biscuits, hints of vanilla and caramel. The company recommends serving it with crushed ice or in ‘After Eight Cocktail’ of their own recipe:
30ml gin;
40ml Crème de Cacao Blanc;
20ml Menthe-Pastille.
