Product description
The distillery, managed by the Seale family since the 1990s, continues traditions dating back to the 17th century. Richard Seale, Master Distiller, combines historical methods with modern precision. He is famous for rums without additives, such as the absence of sugar, colorings or flavorings, aged exclusively in the natural conditions of the tropical climate of Barbados. Foursquare Magisterium, Fine Barbados Rum 16 years old is created from a double distillation, combining the Double-Retort, Pot Still and Continuous Twin Coffee Still methods. Two of the three rums have been double aged to bring out a rich and refined palette of aromas. Aged for 16 years in Bourbon and Sherry barrels, it gains unparalleled complexity and depth of flavor. Magisterium is a precise blend of three 16-year-old single blended rums (where all components are distilled in one distillery). One rum matures for 3 years in Bourbon barrels and 13 years in Sherry oloroso barrels. The second rum spent 9 years in Bourbon barrels and 7 years in Sherry oloroso barrels. The third rum was aged exclusively for 16 years in Bourbon barrels. The blending and maturing process was supervised by Master Distiller and Master Blender Richard Seale of Foursquare Rum Distillery. The name "Magisterium", from Latin "mastery", "teaching" refers to the craftsmanship and knowledge passed down through generations of the Seale family. "Fine" emphasizes the elegance and sophistication of the product.
