Planteray Rum Xaymaca Special Dry is an authentic Jamaican rum distilled in pot stills, known for its aromas and flavours of overripe banana and flambéed pineapple, locally known as "Rum Funk". Planteray Rum Xaymaca Special Dry captures the entire rum culture that is unique to Jamaica, capturing the complex flavours of overripe exotic fruits with an almost animalistic intensity. This rum is a true tribute to, and culmination of, the historic rum culture.
Xaymaca Special Dry rum is a blend of 100% aged still rums from two famous Jamaican distilleries: Long Pond and Clarendon. These historic rum producers are known for their fruity "funk" and intense, complex aromas. Distillation takes place in double retort stills, which gives a high concentration of fruitiness and richness of aromas, which are then deepened during the double maturation process. First, the rums mature for up to 3 years in Jamaica, then they are transported by sea in barrels to southwestern France, where they undergo a second maturation in Ferrand barrels.
