The Macallan and Cirque du Soleil have combined their skills and experience for this edition to present a unique whisky that joins the Harmony Collection for a one-off occasion. This whisky tells the story of our oak in an imaginative and innovative way. This edition features characters from the Cirque du Soleil SPIRIT Experience, who venture into the depths of majestic natural landscapes and through a series of encounters with fantastic characters inspired by local folklore.

The Macallan Harmony Collection Vibrant Oak in collaboration with Cirque de Soleil celebrates the exceptional sherry seasoned American oak casks, showcasing the incredible influence of oak on the aroma and flavour of our whisky. American oak provides exquisite notes of sweet vanilla and fresh orchard fruit, along with the natural colour of golden autumn leaves.

This edition is a blend of whiskies matured in American oak casks, primarily first fill and refill sherry seasoned in Jerez de la Frontera, and bottled at 44.2% abv. The Macallan crafts the oak casks to exacting specifications before seasoning their sherry in Jerez de la Frontera, a painstaking process that takes around five years before they are shipped to Scotland for a long, quiet maturation. The Macallan Harmony Collection showcases the power of oak, which provides up to 80 per cent of The Macallan’s flavour and 100 per cent of its natural colour. Oak shavings, a by-product of The Macallan’s exceptional oak casks, are used to make the paper that ultimately forms the presentation box and bottle labels.

The beautiful illustration that graces the packaging of The Macallan Harminy Collection Vibrant Oak features a human figure, Ayla, intricately woven within the branches of an American oak tree. The design highlights the connection between the natural world and us, representing the life and wonder that flourishes when people are “in harmony with nature.”

The artwork also includes peacock feathers, which symbolise the natural colour of The Macallan and our character, brought to life through the history we celebrate during our 200th anniversary. The human symbolism is reflected in the show created by Cirque du Soleil, which highlights the intersection of human performance and potential.
