Product description
The vineyard has been owned by the family of Count Lafond since the end of the 18th century, which also owned the largest and most famous vineyards in the Pouilly region, where it was called Château du Nozet. The whole estate covers over 165 hectares and is responsible for the production of 10% of the wines of the entire Pouilly Fumé appellation. Since its inception, the most outstanding Sauvignon Blanc wines have been produced here.
In 1972, the whole was taken over by Baron Patrick de Ladoucette, who pays great attention to the variety of wines produced in each of his estates, in order to best reflect their character. Suffice it to say that thanks to this, the wines of de Ladoucette are considered among the best representatives of the main wine regions in France, for years famous for their high quality.
Baron de L Pouilly-Fumé de Ladoucette
A wonderful Sauvignon Blanc, one of the few known for its ageing potential. After the fermentation process, it matures on the lees for 8 to 10 months in glass tanks with a ceramic coating. The next maturation period is up to 15 months on fine lees. On the nose it is very aromatic, yet elegant and subdued, citrus and lemongrass are combined with notes of acacia and orange. On the palate it is very smooth and perfectly complex, gracefully combining notes of citrus freshness with accents of blood oranges and white peaches. The finish is long and majestic with a remaining pleasant acidity and a slightly mineral accent.
It tastes best served at a temperature of 10-12 degrees. Perfect for drinking alone, as well as an exquisite aperitif, in culinary combinations it works well with light appetizers, seafood, and dishes with the addition of nuts and flowers.
