Product description
The word "brandy" comes from Dutch and means "burnt wine".
In the 16th century, Dutch merchants distilled wine and transported it in barrels. In 1772, James Duff and Juan Haurie founded a partnership, soon joined by Thomas Osborne Mann as a partner; in 1857, his descendants became sole owners of the company. Today, 250 years later, Osborne is a producer and distributor of wines, brandies and other spirits, as well as high-end food products. Conde de Osborne debuted in 1965. It is dedicated to Juan Nicolás Osborne, a Vatican diplomat who was decorated by the Pope in the late 19th century. The brandy was distilled from the Airén grape at the family distillery in Tomelloso and aged for at least 10 years in Pedro Ximénez sherry barrels using the solera system.
