Product description
Camus is the fifth largest cognac house and the biggest family owned Cognac Company.
It was founded by Jean Baptiste Camus in 1863. It is located in the Château du Plessis in the smallest growing cru of the region, Borderies, north of the city of Cognac. Cyril Camus, great-great grandson of Jean Baptiste, has been the company president since 2004. Camus Very Special Intensely Aromatic was launched in April 2019; it is a blend of eaux-de-vie reflecting quintessential flavors of the Charente terroir characterized by rich fruity aromas with hints of spices. The wines are distilled on the lees using technique called “Intensity” where the heads that are rich in esters are selected and mixed with a middle cut rather than being redistilled.
Nose: very floral and aromatic, jasmine, violets, pears, grapes, mango, vanilla fudge, caramel, toasted nuts and hints of oak tannins.
Palate: follows the nose, jasmine, oranges, juicy pears and apricots, almond croissants, marzipan, vanilla, dash of mixed spice and oak.
Finish: fairly long, fruity, floral and nutty, with delicate spicy and oaky notes.
