Camus, a family owned and operated Cognac House, was founded by Jean Baptiste Camus in 1863. It is located in the Château du Plessis in the smallest growing cru of the region, Borderies, north of the city of Cognac.
The Borderies range identifies single-estate cognacs produced exclusively from Camus own vineyards in the region, praised for their intensely aromatic profile. The Camus vineyards are part of the estate of 280 hectares located in the best area within the Borderies cru. Here is Camus Borderies VSOP, a single-estate cognac produced exclusively from grapes harvested from the Camus vineyards. Within the last decade, the cognac scored number of prestigious awards, the most recent one was Gold at the 2022 San Francisco World Spirit Competition.
Nose: fruity and floral with spicy tang, spring meadow, vanilla pods, butterscotch, orange zest, grapes, pears, hint of cinnamon and clove, and oak.
Palate: vanilla, caramel, orange marmalade, raisins, peaches, toasted cashews, allspice, hints of nutmeg, and oak tannins.
Finish: long, with notes of vanilla, toffee, milk chocolate, orange peel, mixed spice, and oak tannins.
