As of spring of 2017 the Bowmore Distillery core range includes three expressions: Nº1 Malt, 12 years old and 15 years old finished in ex-Oloroso sherry casks. The latter replaces 15 years old Darkest (finished in Oloroso sherry casks for three years).

The new expression has also been finished in Oloroso sherry casks yet for unspecified period of time. Bowmore (est. 1779) is the oldest operating distillery on the Isle of Islay and the brand annual sales closing two million bottles. It is one of a few distilleries in Scotland, which still use own floor maltings, however only 30% of malt requirement is being produced on site.

 Nose: smoky with distinctive sherry notes, roasted chestnuts, dark chocolate,raisins, toffee, prunes, dash of pepper and hints of rubber and tobacco.

 Palate: smoky and slightly briny, toffee, dark chocolate, vanilla, dried cherries, prunes, walnuts, licorice and tobacco and oak lingering in the background.

 Finish: fairly long with delicate sherry notes, dark chocolate, sea salt, dried fruit and peat smoke.
