Glencadam Distillery, based in the Eastern Highlands, was established in 1825.
Since 2003, it has been owned by Angus Dundee plc, a renowned blended whisky producer controlled by the Hillman family. Glencadam currently operates 7 days a week to its full potential, producing 1.3 million litres of alcohol per year. The Glencadam presented here, distilled on 16 March 2011, spent over 12 years in two bourbon barrels (no. 800156 and 800182), and was bottled by the Dutch The Ultimate Whisky Company at 46% abv, natural colour and without chill filtration in April 2023. The Ultimate was established in 1994 and is headquartered in Amersfoort.
Nose: barley malt, caramel, vanilla pudding, honey, pineapples, peaches, apricots, lemongrass, a pinch of white pepper and a light oak note.
Taste: sweet, vanilla, honey, bubble gum, orange peel, bananas, lemon sorbet, herbal tea and a hint of cinnamon.
Finish: medium long, with notes of vanilla, caramel, citrus, cinnamon, cloves, a bit of hay and oak.
