Product description
Montenegro Amaro is a herbal and spicy liqueur produced in Bologna, Italy, created in 1885 by Stanislao Cobianchi on the occasion of the wedding of Princess Elena Petrovich-Njegos of Montenegro to the future King of Italy Victor Emmanuel III. Montenegro combines bitterness with sweet and spicy notes. It is a drink with a characteristic bitterness and subtle sweetness, which is perfect for drinking alone or as an ingredient in various cocktails.
The production process is based on selecting 40 types of herbs, roots, flowers and spices from around the world, then macerate them in a mixture of alcohol and water to extract their unique aroma. Then, the selected botanicals are sent to copper stills, where pure, intense essences are obtained in the distillation process. The resulting distillates and extracts are precisely combined with caramelized sugar syrup and spring water from Montecatini Terme to balance the bitterness and add a subtle sweetness. The finished liqueur matures for 3 months in oak barrels. Montenegro Amaro is a liqueur for gourmets who seek harmony between bitterness and sweetness. Its versatility in serving, as well as its elegant bottle, make it an ideal gift or a home base for a bar.
