Product description
Golan Heist Winery was founded in 1983 by smaller cooperative communities to create one larger one that would be able to influence the Israeli wine world, as well as provide the highest quality products. The portfolio includes four lines of labels, with different styles of winemaking: Yarden, Gamla, Hermon and Golan. Each line reflects a different terroir and is placed in a different place in the overall offer, from more accessible wines to more complex ones, where the craft of the master winemakers is very noticeable.
Currently, the producer's vineyards cover around 630 hectares, where grapes of over 20 varieties ripen. The vineyards are divided into blocks, where each of them is monitored, harvested and vinified separately, thanks to which the producer has a huge influence on the final blend of wine closed in the bottle.
Yarden Pinot Noir
Wine made from 100% Pinot Noir grapes, matured in the Galilee region. Kosher wine, produced in accordance with ecological standards confirmed by appropriate certificates. After the vinification process, it matures for 15 months in French oak barrels. The nose is very complex and elegant, full of aromas of red fruits, including raspberries and cranberries, there are also accents of violets and a bit of tobacco leaves. On the palate it is harmonious and smooth, gracefully combining fruit flavors with light tannin and balanced acidity. The finish is long and subtle, with a slightly spicy accent.
It tastes best when served at a temperature of 16-18 degrees. Decanting is recommended before serving to ensure the right level of aeration, thanks to which the wine will have the opportunity to present all its strengths. In culinary combinations, it works well with expressive dishes based on mushrooms or fried meats.
