Product description
In 1905 two Norwegians, Thomas Bache-Gabrielsen and Peter Rustad, purchased the A. Edmond Dupuy company and changed its name to Rustad & Bache-Gabrielsen.
Thomas soon married a local girl from a “cognac” family and when Peter died suddenly in 1916 he became sole owner of the company. It remains family-owned to this day, with Hervé Bache-Gabrielsen, Thomas’s great-grandson, as chairman. Bache Gabrielsen American Oak is a French-American fusion (with a Norwegian element) – a cognac distilled from grapes from the Fins Bois growing district, aged for at least two years in French oak barrels and finished for another six months in American oak barrels from Tennessee. In 2022, this cognac won a silver medal at the International Wine & Spirits Competition.
