With annual sales of 2.3 million cases per year (2020), Rémy Martin holds third place on the list of best-selling cognacs (behind Hennessy and Martell).
Almost all Rémy Martin cognacs are marked "Fine Champagne", which means that they are blended from eaux-de-vie from the Grande Champagne and Petite Champagne regions, with at least 50 percent of the former. Rémy Martin XO debuted in 1981. It was created by André Giraud, the company's master blender from 1960 to 1990. In his creation, the master used over 400 eaux-de-vie, including 85% from the Grande Champagne region and 15% from Petite Champagne, aged from 10 to over 30 years in French Limousin oak barrels.
