Product description
A relatively young vineyard, whose history began in 1977, when Paul Corneau inherited 5 hectares of land from his family. Then, wanting to develop, he bought another 8-hectare plot in Pouilly. From the beginning of his activity, he paid great attention to the details of vine cultivation, considering the plantings as his garden, where he devotes every free moment to caring for the bushes. The whole is planted with the only grape variety allowed in Pouilly-Fume, i.e. Sauvignon Blanc.
The winery's products are present in many countries around the world, and are highly valued in renowned restaurants. The entire vineyard is run according to ecological standards, which also reflects the passion and commitment introduced by Paul and continued to this day.
Domaine Paul Corneau Pouilly Fumé
One of the best representatives of the region. Sauvignon Blanc grapes are gently pressed after harvest, then fermented in small vats. After this process, the wine matures on fine sediment until it is bottled in spring after harvest. It is very delicate on the nose, although with clear citrus aromas, such as mandarin and orange, with an accent of lemongrass. On the palate it is smooth, with a clear texture, the flavors of peaches, lemons and blackcurrant combine perfectly with a distinct, although not intrusive acidity. The finish is long and intense, with a smoky accent.
It tastes best served at a temperature of 10-12 degrees. Perfect for drinking alone or as an aperitif, although it also works well with aromatic dishes such as scallops with oranges, crayfish cassolette, or fried shrimp.
