Product description
With annual global sales of 7.7 million cases (2022), Gordon's ranks first on the list of the most popular gins.
Its formula was developed in the late 18th century by Alexander Gordon, a Londoner of Scottish descent, at a time when England was flooded with poor quality gin. The DCL (Distillers Company Limited) concern acquired the rights to the brand in 1922, it currently belongs to Diageo and since 1998 it has been produced in Scotland, in the Cameronbridge Distillery. Alexander Gordon set high standards for his creation, which are maintained to this day - every year the company tests about 3 thousand botanical ingredients, of which 90% are rejected due to unsatisfactory quality. Their full list is known to only 11 people, we have heard that among them are juniper berries, angelica and orris root, coriander seeds, orange and lemon peel and licorice. Gordon's Gin is now available in over 150 countries.
The best-selling version of Gordon's is of course London Dry, but in the last decade the company has significantly expanded its offer of so-called "flavored gins". The latest proposal in this segment (March 2022) is Tropical Passionfruit Gin. In addition to the ingredients of the basic version of London Dry, its formula includes passion fruit and other tropical fruits. This gin combines strong notes of juniper and pine needles with a breath of tropical sweetness. We recommend serving with Schweppes tonic, a slice of orange or passion fruit.
