Product description
Château du Breuil is based in Normandy and is a world-famous producer of Calvados.
Built in the early 16th century, it began distilling in 1954, and in the 21st century joined the ranks of whisky producers. Master distiller Philippe Etignard chose the Golden Promise barley variety, famous in the 1960s. It was used by distilleries such as Macallan and Karuizawa, but its popularity declined a quarter of a century later due to low yields per hectare compared to new varieties. The whisky is distilled twice and aged in American and French oak barrels for at least three years. The 2017 distillation presented here was aged in a single American oak bourbon barrel and bottled at 50.3% ABV in 2022.
