Product description
Baptiste Loiseau was appointed Cellar Master of Rémy Cointreau in 2014 at the age of just 34.
Born in the Cognac region and trained as an oenologist, Loiseau gained experience under the watchful eye of his predecessor, the famous Pierrette Trichet. Rémy Cointreau must trust him completely, as evidenced by the fact that he has been given carte blanche to develop special editions of cognac. This second edition of the series is based on eaux-de-vie matured in the Merpins cellar, which houses 140,000 barrels of Fine Champagne. The master's work, a 27-year-old cognac, debuted in November 2017 in the States, and shortly thereafter in Europe, with an edition of 9,650 bottles.
Nose : pleasantly balanced, pears, mirabelle plums, quince jam, Christmas gingerbread, cloves, cinnamon, notes of vanilla and oak.
Taste : fruity and spicy, dried apricots, raisins, orange peel, hazelnuts, honey, cinnamon, allspice, oak and a hint of candied ginger.
Finish: very long, with notes of sweet spices and dried fruit perfectly balanced by the bitterness of oak.
