Product description
The history of Larsen Cognac begins in 1926. Seven years earlier, 24-year-old Norwegian Jens Reidar Larsen set off on a journey to America.
A shipwreck forced a long layover in Bordeaux, and Jens Reidar tried to find work in nearby Charente, famous for its high-class eaux-de-vie. He never returned to the ship, soon becoming a cognac expert and marrying a local girl. Today, the third generation of the family runs the company, whose official name is Le Cognac des Vikings SA. The Larsen VS presented here is the company's newest cognac, a blend of eaux-de-vie distilled from Ugni Blanc in various districts of the region, from Fins Bois to Grande Champagne. In 2016 and 2017, it won a gold medal at the International World Spirits Competition.
