Product description
Gin Buss Nº 509 is the creation of Serge Buss, founder and owner of Bar Bounce, the first “Gin & Tonic” bar in Belgium.
The brand name supposedly comes from the license number for the production and sale of alcohol. The license document was supposed to include the inscription "BUSS Nº 509". Serge comes from a family with rich culinary traditions, his grandfather was a chef to the Belgian royal family, and his father owned a popular restaurant chain; he opened his first restaurant when he was just 20 years old. The Buss Nº 509 brand debuted in 2013 with the Raspberry Gin version, the first in the "Author Collection", which was soon joined by gins: Pink Grapefruit, Belgian Apple, Elderflower and Persian Peach. Buss Nº 509 is best known for its excellent "fruity" gins, but we highly recommend its more traditional versions. Midi Cut debuted in 2016, and its formula was inspired by herbs from the Mediterranean basin. Its core consists of juniper berries, marjoram, thyme, basil, bay leaf, coriander, oranges, lemons, licorice and angelica root, vanilla, cardamom and orris root. In 2018, this gin won a silver medal at the International Wines & Spirit Competition Gin Buss Nº 509 is distilled in the Zuidam Distillery.
Buss Nº 509 Midi Cut is a gin with a herbal-juniper aroma-flavor palette, in which Mediterranean herbs balance the sweetness of vanilla and, to a lesser extent, citrus. The producer recommends serving it with a classic Indian tonic, with the addition of orange zest and a sprig of thyme.
